Polypropylene was developed in the fifties and is resistant to chemical solvents, alkali, acids, and also against the growth of bacteria.
Polypropylene is often used in medical equipment and food packaging (including PP bags, PP film). In many ways it is very similar to polypropylene, polyethylene its predecessor, but it is much stronger.
Furthermore, polypropylene is easily recyclable, which is today an important requirement.
